Correspondence courses
You can choose to study either Level 1 or 2 for your own interest and if you would like to become a Wise At Heart facilitator then you need to complete all four levels of the correspondence course with Simonette Vaja - Founder of Wild at Heart & Wise at heart creativity and self expression circles and courses.
The Correspondence courses
Level 1: Self & Creative Arts
This is a 6 week course that provides you with the opportunity to explore your inner self and to express this through the creative arts. When you have enrolled you will be sent a "Wise At Heart Level 1 Starter Kit" that includes text book and specific guided meditation CD's.
Simonette Vaja will correspond with you and each week you will receive an email with instructions on applying one of the creative art processes to express various aspects of yourself and your life experiences.
The course is experiential rather than prescriptive, so you are required to take up your paint brush, or put on some wild music and dance your life story. You will be emailed each of the 6 weeks with instructions for your creative practice and your journaling assignments designed to move you toward being the Artiste of your life. It works well for you to choose the same three hour time slot each week for your wild at heart activities. In addition you are encouraged to practice "body focus" meditation for 10-20 minutes each day and make notes in your journal.
Fee for the 6 week correspondence course $360.00 plus $25.00 postage and handling.
Included in the fee you can expect the following:
- Wise At Heart Level 1 Starter Kit by Simonette Vaja. Includes:
- You will be emailed each week with extensive instructions and guidelines for your creative process.
- Regular email interactions with Simonette Vaja re: debriefing each weeks creative processes.
You will need to have the following items to complete the 9 week course
- Water-colour paints, or coloured crayons and Art pad.
- Air-drying Clay such as DAS.
- Candles and special objects to help create a sacred space.
- Pens and pencils for writing.
- Cd player to play guided meditations and dance music.
- Access and email address for correspondence.
- Postal address to send any CD's and journals required.
Level 2 Relationships - your greatest teacher
This course requires you to view your relationships with others as integral to your spiritual path. To develop an orientation of compassion and understanding for others in your life...
In fact you are required to choose someone from your life whom you experience conflict or find difficulty communicating with. During the 6 weeks you will be guided to experience more fully what is actually going on - shadow boxing to shadow embracing. You can achieve this within yourself, without ever having to tell the other person what is changing.
You will also be required to choose another person in your life who you do feel close to, and can practice with them, meeting throughout the 6 week course. During the course you will examine your own Archetypes of masculine and feminine, become familiar with how you are projecting or defending yourself with others, and become empowered to deal effectively and compassionately with so called "difficult" others.
Fee for the 6 week correspondence course $360.00 plus $25.00 postage and handling.
Included in the fee you can expect the following:
- Wise At Heart Level 2 Starter Kit by Simonette Vaja. Includes:
- You will be emailed each week with instructions for your personal study
and assignments.
- You need to choose two people who are currently in your life and that you have regular contact with.
- a person you find really difficult to be with
- a person you are comfortable with and enjoy their company and would be happy to meet with you during the 6 week course
- You will be required to keep a personal journal of your observations and experiences with others.
- Regular practice of "body focussed" meditation.
In addition you will need the following to complete level 2:
- An Art-pad and paints/crayons.
- CD player to listen to guided meditations.
- Email and postage addresses.
- At least two people you have regular contact with.
The outcome you can expect from this course is a feeling of empowerment with those you have previously felt uncomfortable with, and a greater intimacy and enjoyment in the moment to moment experience with those you love. This orientation of seeking to understand and accept others for who they are is an integral component to becoming a wise at heart facilitator. We need to be able to appreciate the diversity of ways of being.
Level 3 Skills and Theory component
A. Fee includes comprehensive WAH facilitator text-book and manual and written appraisal assessment of your assignment. $360.00 plus $25.00 postage and handling
a) Read through the manual and become familiar with it's contents.
b) Email/phone correspondence to answer and clarify contents.
B. Assessment - short answers to 4 questions:
- Nature of Self and consciousness short essay answer minimum 500 words.
- a) Define the difference between the following specialist's in terms of how they work with others Coach, Counsellor, Teacher, WAH Facilitator.
b) How do you ensure safety for your participants.
c) What can your participants expect to experience during their guided meditations?
- List the main creative arts processes and how they can be applied to facilitate participant's learning - and self awareness.

Post to Simonette Vaja PO BOX 807 Avalon, NSW 2107. I will review and send you back my comments and a pass/not pass result. You can re-submit as many times as necessary to ensure a pass result.
Level 4 Practicum component
Practicum component part 1: This is where you put into practice what you have learned. You are required to present a three hour wild at heart course to more than three people - your topic of choice, let them know that the group is part of your assessment and is supervised by me. At the end of the session please give them feedback forms (in your wildatheart manual) and then forward these to me - we can communicate via phone or internet on this feedback.
Practicum component part 2: Simonette Vaja to attend or representative.
For this you need to present a three hour wild at heart session to more than three people. We will arrange before hand so that I can attend this preferable on a saturday. Again, feedback forms need to be handed out to participants at the end of the session and copies given (sent) to me.
I will review your feedback forms and presentation - supply you with written feedback at which time you will receive your full accreditation and a Certificate of Completion Wise at Heart Facilitator Small Groups.
